Mr. McCarthy brings significant management, marketing and investment experience to the Company. He has advised Top-10 banks, Wall Street, Insurance Companies and Investment Funds regarding Asset Dispositions and had personal loan portfolio investment authority for an NYSE publicly traded company.
Mr. McCarthy’s background includes 8 years as a Managing Director reporting to the Chairman of a NY based international real estate investment bank (running both the FL office and the Bank’s Loan Sale Advisory Practice nationally), has been the EVP of a Florida real estate brokerage firm, spent 11 years working for a publicly traded financial services firm (at one point reporting to the President and successfully running a number of profitable business units) and several years as the Managing Director running the loan sale advisory and real estate investment banking arm of a boutique broker-dealer. He has also run the business development units of several public companies. Earlier in his career he held CPA, Controller and CFO positions for nationally recognized institutions and corporations.
Mr. McCarthy is an MBA graduate in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in NY and a BA graduate in Economics from Whitman College in WA.
LON A. CRITCHFIELD, EVP Consulting:
Mr. Critchfield brings decades of experience holding senior positions in banking, underwriting, real estate investing and loan trading experience. He has consulted for more than a dozen firms where he enhanced their underwriting of loan acquisition targets for various real estate and loan funds as well as commercial banks. He has also consulted for the FDIC on bank liquidations.
Mr. Critchfield’s most recent experience was as an SVP in Commercial Lending from a Top-3 National Bank. He has also held positions as the Regional Director CMBS Originations for a Top-10 bank (where he was previously a Senior Asset Manager, with a $6 billion portfolio). He has served as the CEO of three regional banks (in OK and MO), and was a Vice President of Acquisitions for a publicly traded Bank.
Mr. Critchfield holds a Graduate Degree in Commercial Lending from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Additionally, Lon is a former U.S. Marine – who was on the Base Pistol Team and was a hand-to-hand combat instructor; He was granted Top Secret Clearance after an extensive FBI background search; and was proudly Honorably Discharged.
SEAN HUSSEY, EVP Consulting:
Mr. Hussey brings over 35 years of experience in the banking and consulting industries. With expertise in credit risk management, file reviews, underwriting, corporate risk governance, finance, real estate and particularly relevant today, regulatory compliance, Basel III, stress testing and regulatory reporting.
A consultant for the last 11 years, Sean has advised banks, government and financial institutions on matters such as M&A transactions, loan loss reserves, failed banks and OCC reporting. He has also advised banks on addressing regulatory criticisms and been a subject matter expert in litigation matters. Prior to that time, he was the Portfolio Executive Officer for a Top-15 Bank and the SVP – Portfolio Management (and Risk) for a Top-3 U.S. Bank.
Mr. Hussey is an MBA Graduate in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and holds a BA from the University of South Florida.
DAVID MCDONALD, EVP Consulting:
Mr. McDonald brings 30 years of key role and senior experience in business development, underwriting and marketing, with a focus on government and municipal backed investment opportunities, including tax lien certificates and deeds. With real estate expertise in distressed asset acquisition and disposition, including commercial and residential property, He has worked for corporate and private investors, including a fortune 500 company and various banks throughout the country. His activities include comprehensive RFP and RFQ responses to government agencies, acquisition strategies, and yield analysis.
Mr. McDonald’s expertise involves multi-state and jurisdictional development of local government tax lien portfolio acquisition and servicing opportunities, municipal tax lien acquisition and foreclosure processes, and efficient disposition strategies. This combined experience, along with real property and neighborhood analysis has helped develop keen evaluative and analytical skills, particularly in distressed assets. He was also integral in a startup tax lien investment company, including aspects of tax lien financing and securitization, and business plan development.
Mr. McDonald is a graduate of the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business in Gainesville, FL, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minor in Finance. He is also a licensed real estate agent in the state of Florida.
